Overview
Hiroko Hosokawa, a female lawyer, agrees to defend her friend, Moto Asakawa, who accidently suffocated her child because she was in despair over her husband's death. The prosecuter is her brother-in-law who put Hiroko's lover in prison for his political thought. He demands a five years' imprisonment for the accused for failing her duties as a mother. Hiroko defends Moto that she is a victim of a male dominating feudal society and cries for women's liberation
