Overview
Depicts the Chinese people's heroic resistance to British imperialism in the Opium War of 1840. British imperialists are shipping huge quantities of opium to China to poison her people. Sent by the imperial court to Canton, Lin Tse-hsu successfully stops the opium trade, only to have the British retaliate and the court withdraw its support. But the Chinese people take up resolute resistance beginning the century-long struggle against imperialism
