Overview
It is a story of a father and his son. The father is a doorkeeper for a wealthy family. He has lived a very frugal life since his wife's death. He places all his hopes on his son. But his son does not strive to make progress. Under the influence of the social practice prevailing at that time the son becomes vain and keeps company with dandies. The father's fond hope that his son has a brilliant future is shattered
